When it comes to defying the difference between guilt and gratitude they don’t even come close. Gratitude is a trait that can’t be taught. One of the jobs of a parent or grand parent is to teach our children to understand and show gratitude. If the fact about world hunger is thrust down the children’s mind it is positively an abusive attitude. A child the secret of life shouldn’t be taught gratefulness on the grounds that they have what others do not. If you experience true gratitude you will be filled with joyful feelings, not guilty ones. When we are truly grateful, we feel blissful and blessed. It’s hard to feel blessed for having a plate filled with food if we also have the images of starving children in our minds!
